If you’re based in Singapore and looking for best place in Asia to hold a convention, key work meeting or congress, you don’t need to go far.
In fact, you don’t need to go anywhere at all.
According to the latest global rankings by the International Congress and Convention Association, Singapore is once again the best convention city in Asia. This is the 12th consecutive year the Lion City has topped the Asia rankings.
In 2013, Singapore hosted a record 175 ICCA events, which is more than a 16% increase from the previous year. This included 12 world congresses and several key meetings, including a number of first-time in Asia or Singapore events.
This growth is also the strongest year-on-year increase the country has had since 2005, showing Singapore’s popularity as a business hub has no intention of slowing down.
The reason Singapore is the best place for big events? According to organisers, the draw lies in its appeal as a strategic location with strong access to key Asian markets.
Tourism in Singapore grew massively in 2013, with a record 15.5 million visitors, and visitor arrivals for the Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry reached 3.5 million.
