Eid 2024: Eligible drivers in Malaysia to enjoy free entry & exit at most toll plazas till 11.59pm on 9 April

Eligible drivers will be able to enjoy toll-free entry and exit at the toll plazas between 12.01am on 8 April 2024 (Monday) and 11.59pm on 9 April 2024 (Tuesday).

Heading back to your hometown to balik kampung this Hari Raya Aidilfitri? PLUS Malaysia has announced toll-free free entry and exit when passing through most toll plazas ahead of Wednesday (10 April 2024).

In conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration in the country, eligible drivers travelling between states will enjoy toll-free travel when passing through the exit toll plaza during from 12:01am on 8 April 2024 (Monday) to 11:59pm on 9 April 2024 (Tuesday).

Announcing this in a Facebook post, PLUS Malaysia said drivers passing through the PLUS highway network service will be able to enjoy this if the vehicle falls under the class 1 private vehicles (equivalent to class 2 for Penang Bridge) category.

Moreover, toll-free entry and exit will not be offered at the highway toll plazas at Malaysia's borders: Sultan Iskandar Building Toll Plaza (in Tambak Johor) and Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza (on Malaysia-Singapore-Linkedua Kedua Highway) when the initiative is implemented.

Touch 'n Go users are reminded to still enter and exit via the Touch 'n Go lane as per usual and tap their card at the toll lane to record their trip.

For SmartTAG users, ensure your Touch 'n Go card is still inserted in your SmartTAG device and ensure that your device has a battery.

MyRFID users are required to enter and exit the RFID toll lane as per usual for travel records.

No toll fees will be deducted from your Touch 'n Go or e-wallet card balance once you have passed through the toll lane during this period. Users are encouraged to make sure that their Touch 'n Go e-wallet card has sufficient balance for travel outside the toll-free hours.

On the topic of Hari Raya, with Ramadan coming to a close, Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) shared on 5 April 2024 that the date for Hari Raya Aidilfitri will be announced after the moon sighting (Syawal) on the evening on 9 April 2024 (Tuesday).

HRO would like to wish those celebrating the festival a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zaahir & Batin, and safe travels!
