Up the ranks: U GRO Capital makes way for Rajni Khurana's return, in the role of Chief People Officer

The appointment is dubbed as a "homecoming", as Khurana was credited to be part of the foundational team at U GRO Capital.

Mumbai-headquartered datatech lending platform, U GRO Capital, has announced the return of seasoned HR professional Rajni Khurana (pictured above) to its ranks, in the role of Chief People Officer (CPO).

The appointment is dubbed as a "homecoming", as Khurana was credited to be part of the foundational team at U GRO Capital, with the role of scaling up the people function, and establishing culture, values, and policy frameworks. In that previous stint, she was known to have contributed significantly to scaling the organisation to 45 branches and 500+ employees.

This return to the organisation has been put down to her passion for empowering the MSME ecosystem.

Taking on this role as CPO, Khurana will look to establish a meritocratic culture, enable cross-functional synergies, foster a non-hierarchical environment, and enhance rewards and recognition programmes. This comes as UGRO Capital is embarking on its next phase of growth; with presence currently across 105 branches and over 2,000 employees, and plans to add 75 branches in the next quarter.

Shachindra Nath, Founder and Managing Director of U GRO Capital, said: "We are delighted to welcome Rajni back to U GRO Capital. She built the initial people-centric culture framework of U GRO and her rejoining would bring continuity in building the entrepreneurial culture required for our journey to build best in class financial institution."

With over two decades of diverse experience in global HR management and strategic business advisory, Khurana has a track record in creating platforms for growing organisations, particularly in the financial services sector. She was most recently associated with IndoSpace as Executive Director & Head - Human Resources. Her career also includes roles at CRISIL, Birla Sunlife Insurance, HDFC Bank, and WNS.

On her appointment, Khurana shared: "Returning to U GRO Capital feels like coming back home. I am excited about the shared vision of empowering the MSME ecosystem."
