Up the ranks: Jessica Bittner is the new chief people officer at Institute for Community Living (ICL)

The CHRO's role is a newly-created position at the New-York based behavioural health non-profit organisation.

The Institute for Community Living (ICL), a nonprofit organisation that provides New Yorkers with behavioural health challenges with housing, healthcare, and recovery services, has appointed Jessica Bittner (pictured above) as its new Chief People Officer, effective February 2024.

This is a newly-created role, which the organisation says, reflects its "investment in its workforce and the professional development of its staff," in a media release.

New CHRO Bittner brings more than two decades of experience in executive roles for nationally recognised organizations in human services, healthcare, and higher education to ICL.

Welcoming her to the appointment, Jody Rudin, President and CEO of ICL, said: "She (Bittner) will lead our organisation in its goals to support staff and become one of the best places to work. Her proven track record in talent management and strategic human resources planning will support ICL in cultivating a positive workplace culture."

Bittner has held roles at SCO Family of Services, Northwell Health, and NYC Health + Hospitals. Most recently, she was the Vice President and Regional Human Resources Officer for Northwell Health.

In her past tenures, Bittner has been credited with transformative initiatives resulting in measurable improvements in employee engagement, retention, and overall organisational performance.

She said: "I am thrilled to join ICL and am devoted to shaping the evolution of ICL’s workplace culture. I am committed to fostering an environment where collaboration, growth, and employee wellbeing flourish, and I look forward to contributing to ICL’s enduring success."
