Kuala Lumpur-based Sunway Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality division of Malaysian conglomerate Sunway Group, has appointed Bhuvanes Krishnasamy as group director of human resources.

She will be responsible for the strategic framework within HR, with a particular focus on talent management, driving performance through people strategy and leadership development, and to embed the corporate culture to the 11 Sunway Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam, which represent over 2,000 employees.

She is based at Sunway Hotels & Resorts’ corporate office in Sunway City, Kuala Lumpur.

“We are delighted to have Bhuvanes on the leadership team and look forward to her contributions as we focus on the continued growth of Sunway’s hospitality division,” said André Scholl, chief executive officer of Sunway Hotels & Resorts.

A Malaysian national, Bhuvanes has more than 15 years of HR leadership experience. She is not new to the Sunway network, with the most recent role as the head of HR with Sunway Integrated Properties.

She has also held several cluster roles with Sunway, in additional to HR, such as quality assurance and knowledge management, that resulted in the implementation of ISO 9001 Quality Management system and ISO14001 Environmental Management System.

Prior to joining Sunway Integrated Properties, she served as the people and organisation partner, responsible for South East Asia and Australia at Novozymes (M).
