Salaries of HR professionals across Malaysia

JobStreet.com latest salary report revealed that admin/HR senior managers in the logistics sector based in central Malaysia are the highest earners in the function with an average maximum salary of  RM24,000 a month and an average minimum salary of RM19,399.

This is followed by those in the wholesale sector based in central Malaysia, with an average maximum salary of RM19,125 a month, and an average minimum of RM13,125. While those in the FMCG sector took home an average maximum of RM18,650 and an average minimum of RM14,400.

The salary guide is based on the compensation listed on job advetisements on JobStreet.com Malaysia in 2017. Minimum and maximum salaries were capped at RM1000, and RM100,000 respectively. Regions are divided as follows:

  • Northern Region: Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and Perak
  • Central Region: Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya
  • Southern Region: Melaka, Johor, and Negeri Sembilan
  • East Coast: Kelantan, Pahang, and Terengganu
  • East Malaysia: Sabah and Sarawak

In general, it is observed that those in based in the central regions of Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya have the highest earnings with exceptions of the construction, hospitality, and 'others' sectors where those based in the southern regions of  Melaka, Johor, and Negeri Sembilan have the upper hand.
