Malaysian civil servant nabbed for alleged drug abuse

A government staff from Kota Samarahan who had been allegedly abusing drugs for eight years was caught during on operation last week; as reported in The Borneo PostThe suspect, aged 33, was apprehended at 4.05pm by the Narcotics Crime Division of Limbang District Police.

District police chief Superintendent Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the suspect’s urine tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. Bukhori said that initial investigation showed suspect had first abused drug in early 2009 when working with a marketing agency in Kuala Lumpur.

The suspect allegedly spent RM40 on each tube of syabu. He has no criminal record and the case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
