You might want to lay off the booze this weekend, as too much partying, stress at work and late nights are causing women to look their oldest at 3.30pm on Wednesdays.

New research as shown 12% find Wednesday to be the most stressful day, while two thirds of women feel a “slump in energy levels” at about 3.30pm, The Daily Mail reported.

“Combine the highest stress levels of the week on a Wednesday with the natural mid-afternoon slump and it seems that’s why women can look older than their years,” Nichola Joss, St. Tropez skin expert, said.

St. Tropez, which carried out the survey, also found 46% of women are likely to drink on the weekends, and because alcohol takes a while to process in the body, also adds to why they look and feel their lowest on a Wednesday.

Another reason women may feel worse for wear on a Wednesday is because 37% reported stress from work causes them sleepless nights early in the week on Mondays.

“The effects of a lack of sleep can take 48 hours to show on the face, so if many women sleep badly on Monday they will look their oldest on Wednesday,” Joss said.

However, Friday is when women feel their best – partly because Thursday has been found to be the most romantic night for many ladies.

“As the mid-week slump passes and stress levels begin to decrease, it’s fascinating that Thursday is the evening they are most likely to feel amorous,” Joss said.
