Unlocking the value of mobility programmes

Global assignments are expected to multiply in coming years but some organisations still find it hard to evaluate the return on investment from their mobility strategies.

How can HR professionals best link excellent mobility programmes to bottom line business benefits?

At Workforce Mobility Interactive 2016, HR leaders and global mobility specialists will examine the ways organisations can measure mobility ROI as part of their staff mobility and expatriate management strategy work.

Taking place in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in February 2016, Workforce Mobility Interactive is an exclusive invitation-only conference open to director and VP-level HR professionals and senior mobility specialists from global and multinational companies.

“Mobility programmes should not be treated as a short-term business strategy because it is the primary response to a growing business trend,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine.

“Workforce Mobility Interactive speakers will discuss to HR professionals how investing in the right information and infrastructure for managing mobile employees can bring results.”

Workforce Mobility Interactive 2016 will address issues the HR community has found to be the most pressing for HR practitioners in Asia. Here is how one of the topics, evaluating the ROI of mobility programmes, will be presented at the event.

In his keynote discussion, Thiyagarajan Govindasamy, regional HR director at Danfoss Industries - APAC, will show how to develop a holistic standard of talent mobility beyond traditional international assignments and its potential overall cost to the company.

Another presentation will present an in-depth look into global mobility’s ROI, highlighting the value of international assignments with an effective global mobility strategy.

During interactive sessions, delegates will have the chance to share their challenges in implementing mobility strategies and find out how these programs can add better value to their organisations.

They will also get recommendations on how to measure the cost-effectiveness of their mobility programs.

A panel discussion will disclose how to facilitate cost reduction in the face of changing demands and expectations of mobile employees.

Panellists will also examine how mobility compensation policies can be revised to empower business objectives and maximise resources allocated for talent management.

The panel includes Sanjay Ray, global head rewards for performance management & operations at AET, Ian Johnson, senior vice president at Brookfield Global Relocation Services, Rita Chye, global mobility lead for policy & administration at General Motors Company and Tarun Gulrajani, head of human resources at REHAU.

“The conference expects that questions will be raised about the integration of mobility and talent management strategy and how it can fulfil business needs in general,” said Evon Yew, regional producer at Human Resources magazine.

“The event’s interactive format will allow mobility experts and their peers in the HR industry to address those issues more openly at Workforce Mobility Asia.”

To be held in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in February 2016, Workforce Mobility Interactive is Asia’s only regional conference on staff mobility and expatriate management strategy.

Attendance to the one-day annual event is strictly by invitation only with invitations reserved for senior in-house HR professionals. Attendance is capped at 100 delegates.

Workforce Mobility Interactive 2016 focuses on the most pressing issues pertinent to mobility and expatriate management such as international compensation & benefits, global talent management, return on investment, and regulatory compliance as well as risks and opportunities in dealing with an evolving intergenerational and diverse global workforce.

To get a global and Pan-Asian regional view of staff mobility and expatriate management strategy, do not miss Workforce Mobility Interactive 2016.

Human Resources’ “Interactive-style” conference format is a unique blend of case study presentations, panel discussions and roundtable discussions in which delegates work through five topic areas in a single day – an experience described by attendees as eight hours of intense peer learning.
