J. Walter Thompson Asia Pacific has appointed Rachna Nazir as head of talent for Southeast Asia. Nazir is responsible for overseeing the talent functions in Southeast Asia, and reports to Jacco ter Schegget, Southeast Asia CEO of J. Walter Thompson Company.

As she is based in Singapore, she will have one foot in this operation and one in the regional markets. Rachna has 17 years of work experience spanning various facets of strategic and operational HR. She has championed initiatives in talent acquisition, employee engagement, talent management and development. Her previous stints include leading HR and talent at Moody’s Group, McCann Worldgroup and Discovery Communications.

Commenting on the appointment, Jacco ter Schegget said: “Great people are what make an agency, and Rachna is a great asset to help foster the talent we have and find the talent we need. And we’re glad to have Rachna focused solely on Southeast Asia, as we continue our transformation process in the region.”

Additionally, Nazir commented: “It’s great to be back in the creative industry which, while it has its challenges, is an immensely rewarding environment. The diversity and richness of talent already at J. Walter Thompson Company in the region make for exciting times ahead.”

In 2015, she was awarded as Talent Person of the Year, South East Asia by Campaign Asia Pacific. Rachna holds a Masters in HR and Talent Management as well as global credential certifications such as GPHR (Global Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM – SCP (Senior Certified Professional in HR).
