Jon Cohen has been recruiting in the Malaysian start-up scene for nearly four years. Previously he was working for a global executive search firm. He fell into recruitment by accident in 2008 and since then it has been an “Alice in Wonderland” adventure with new, amazing and absurd discoveries every day. Well, not really ... recruitment involves its fair share of administration, research and repetitive tasks.
But after almost a decade of recruiting across more than 30 countries and a huge range of functions, he is still constantly surprised by the strange and bizarre conversations he finds himself in with candidates and hiring managers, but mostly candidates.
What excites him most about recruitment at the moment is the potential to adopt (steal) concepts from digital marketing, SEO, AI and push recruitment into the 21st century.
