HR Practitioner Appointments

RedMart appoints a new HR director Prem Bhagat has been appointed by RedMart to the role of HR director with effect from May 2016. Bhagat comes with almost 14 years of HR experience with his most recent role being the SEA HR director at Luxottica. In his new role, he will remain based in Singapore.

Avnet welcomes Jennifer White as its HR lead White was named as Avnet's new human resources director for Australia and New Zealand with effect from June 15. In this role, White will help Avnet attract, engage, develop and reward a diverse and highly-skilled team. She will also be focusing on transforming the HR function to become more strategic and agile and will report to KT Lim, vice president, human resources officer.

Fiona Geddes takes up a new role at Toll Global Logistics Geddes was appointed to the role of divisional general manager of HR effective June 2016. This role saw her move to Singapore from Malaysia where she was the HR director of British American Tobacco Malaysia, with responsibilities including including HR strategy, talent management, organisational design and development, for operations in Malaysia and Singapore.

Geddes' new role consolidates her previous experience gained in the Asia Pacific region where she was formerly regional head of organisational effectiveness for British American Tobacco - based in Hong Kong - covering more than 17,000 employees across Asia Pacific.

 

While at British American Tobacco, Geddes led the HR team to win various awards such as the gold award for Best Graduate Recruitment Program, and two silver awards for Best Staff Referral Programme and Best Use of Recruitment Technology at this year's Asia Recruitment Awards in Malaysia. 

Geddes is a high-performing, results-driven business leader, specialising in delivering transformational change, with almost 20 years of HR experience.

Odessa Goh joins Perdana Parkcity Odessa Goh has joined Perdana Parkcity as a compensation and benefits specialist with effect from April 2016. Goh brings with her a wealth of experience in HR with her most recent role being the head of compensation and benefits at Safeguards G4S. She remains based in Malaysia.

Australia Post welcomes Joanna Rica Sena to its recruitment team Bringing with her a wealth of experience, Sena has taken up the role of recruitment team lead - talent acquisition partner at Australia Post. She was most recently the recruitment team lead (for Australia Post) at Allegis Global Solutions. She remains based in Melbourne, Australia.

Agnes Natalia Basri is now part of Modalku's HR team The Jakarta-based online marketplace has appointed Agnes Natalia Basri to the role of talent executive effective from April 2016. Natalia Basri will remain based in Indonesia. In the role with Modalku, she told Human Resources that being a startup, the company has a number of top HR agendas. She said: "We want to make sure systems and policy, implementation process fit perfectly with our culture and the team here, hence there will be a lot of innovation along the way."

DB Schenker welcomes Cindy Qian to its team Qian was appointed by DB Schenker to the role of staffing specialist with effect from April 2016. Qian has been in HR for a large part of her career, with her most recent role being a recruiter at Futurestep, a Korn Ferry Company. She will remain based in China in this new role.

Commonwealth Bank employs Sandeep Joshi as talent acquisition partner, enterprise services Effective June 2016, this role sees him relocating to Australia from Malaysia where he was most recently a talent acquisition specialist at Scope International. Commenting on his appointment, Joshi told Human Resources: "As this is my first job in Australia, the most important agenda for me is to understand the Australian market, its culture and environment, as well as identify the right pool of talent using the best practices that are used in Australian market."

Sara van Vliet is ANZ's new head of talent, resourcing and diversity ANZ has promoted van Vliet to the role of head of talent, resourcing and diversity with effect from May 2016. van Vliet is an experienced HR professional, having held a range of organisational development and generalist HR roles with the most recent being the head of talent and engagement at ANZ. She will remain based in Melbourne, Australia.

Siam City Cement promotes Natnaphin Watcharapong Siam City Cement has promoted Natnaphin Watcharapong from a business partner assistant to an HR specialist. After graduating from the University of Leeds with a master's degree in human resources management, Watcharapong was a recruitment consultant in Adecco Thailand before joining Siam City Cement. She will remain based in Thailand.

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Soo Chin Lee takes on the role of project staffing professional  IBM Client Innovation Center has welcomed Soo Chin Lee to its team as a project staffing professional effective from June 2016. Previously a recruitment professional at IBM Malaysia, Lee has been with IBM since March 2010. In this new role, Lee remains based in Malaysia.

Anirudh Arvind joins Human INC in Kuala Lumpur Arvind has taken on the task of manager of business development at the leadership development consulting firm, reporting to CEO, Christoffer Erichsen. He told Human Resources his current responsibilities include increasing the footprint of Human INC and "making innovation an 'innate trait' for organisations".

Daniel Sherrington, regional director of sales, APAC, O.C. Tanner Dan moved to O.C. Tanner from Grass Roots Group, where he served as General Manager, Singapore. Heading up the new Singapore and Australian offices Dan will be working to expand O.C. Tanner’s APAC operations.

SAP welcomes Shane Paladin to the role of MD of Hong Kong and Macau The company has announced that with effect from May 30, Paladin will lead the sales and business development team to help organisations accelerate their digital transformation through simplifying their business processes and IT infrastructure. He will oversee all SAP business operations to build on the growth momentum of SAP’s next generation business suite SAP S/4HANA and cloud solutions.  Based in Hong Kong, Paladin will report to Mark Gibbs, global SVP, SAP SE and president, SAP Greater China.

NetApp promotes Krithika Radhakrishnan to senior director for APAC business ops Based in Singapore, Radhakrishnan will work closely with Rick Scurfield, NetApp president Asia Pacific, and the regional leadership team to execute their vision to deliver on their financial and operational expectations. She has been an integral member of NetApp’s finance team for 10 years, starting her career as controller for the ASEAN/India business, and later taking on the additional responsibility for APAC channels and pathways. Prior to joining NetApp, Radhakrishnan worked at Sun Microsystems and StorageTek for eight years as controller and head business operations for the South Asia region.

Anaken Lai joins QBE Insurance as recruitment lead - Asia, HR With effect from June 2016, Lai takes on the role with extensive experience in both corporate talent acquisition and retained executive search with a solid track record of completing senior executive mandates across the Asia Pacific region. This new role saw him relocating to Hong Kong from Singapore where he was most recently the head of talent acquisition, human resources, Singapore at Manulife.

Rolf Bezemer is the global head of sales at Lumesse As the global head of sales, he will lead the global talent acquisition sales team for Lumesse. An expert in cloud technology, specialising in HCM, talent acquisition, talent management and workforce analytics, Bezemer joined Lumesse in January 2016. He will be remain based in the Greater Boston Area.

Speaking to Human Resources, he said his priority this year is to "increase our sales capacity in APAC and introduce our new proposition that will allow recruiters to streamline all sourcing and recruiting (including LinkedIn cross awareness) using our power search."

Sanjay Modi is the new managing director, APAC and Middle East for Monster.com Modi comes with an MBA in marketing from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, Modi and has worked in various managerial roles for large organisations such as Ingersoll Rand India and NITT. He has been with Monster.com for the most part of his career most recently being the managing director, Monster India, SEA, Hong Kong and Middle East. He will remain based in India.

Talent Plus appoints Affendy Shuib as its new country lead, Malaysia Shuib joins Talent Plus in June 2016 with a combined 10 years of regional experience in recruitment. Through his career, he has received various awards including "Master Headhunter" by PeopleFirst Consulting in his three years there. In this new role, Shuib relocates to Malaysia from Singapore where he was most recently manager (executive search) at FOS Search (a Career International company).

Jethro Yee is the assistant director, corporate solutions at SHRI Corporation With vast experiences in organisational development, learning development, talent development and business consulting, Yee has helped many organisations excel and further develop their workforce. He joins SHRI Corporation from his previous role as the learning and development head at NatSteel Holdings.  Yee will remain based in Singapore.

On his new role, Yee told Human Resources: "As the SHRI corporation assistant director, other than driving the top and bottom line is also to develop and empower my team to a full automation process."

He added that he aims contribute in the HR space by communicating with  HR leaders and professionals to raising awareness of the importance of HR compliance and its impact to the business in more holistic spectrum.

"My current new role, is all about networking. It is the people you know that will help define the outcome while your competencies will be the evidences," Yee said.

Rajashree Murthy joins ABC Consultants as a senior consultant Murthy takes on this role with effect from June 2016 coming with about six years of experience in a diverse range of industries. In this role, she will remain based in India. Responding to queries by Human Resources, Murthy said: "The number one action plan that I have on the agenda this year is to clock in good revenue for the organisation and have swift and clean closures with a great turn around time, satisfying my clients."

Reeracoen Malaysia welcomes Sin Yee Kua as recruitment advisor A graduate of Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kua joined Reeracoen Malaysia in March 2016 from her previous role as learning consultant at Huawei Technologies where she was responsible for coordinating internally with other departments to assess the competencies of new staff. She will be based in Malaysia.

Joshua Woo takes on the role of assistant team manager Woo joins TBC HR Consulting from Kelly Services where he was a consulting manager, contingent workforce operations. Remaining based in Singapore, in his new role, Woo will be focusing on HR outsourcing solutions (of payroll and staff management, benefits administration, and outsourcing or outplacement for companies); business process outsourcing and recruitment process outsourcing projects, contingency and retainer sourcing and more.

He told Human Resources: "After moving from an US MNC to TBC HR, I wanted to 'create something out of nothing' which is meaningful to the People’s business – staffing and recruitment industry."

"In HR staffing, you need to have a passion for people to do be able to perform consulting, leading and providing service combine with a genuine approach with an entrepreneurship mind-set," Woo added.

"My focal points are still the same when I first started in 2007 as a recruiter - the very essential 3Cs this in trade - colleagues, clients and candidates."

Evelyn Zheng takes up the role of principal consultant - A&F at Allegis Talent2 Zheng was promoted by Allegis Talent2 from her previous role as senior consultant - A&F. She comes with over four years of accounting and finance recruiting experience and is a highly focused recruitment consultant. She will remain based in China.

The Horan Group brings Audrey Ledbetter on board its team Ledbetter joined The Horan Group as a business development professional in may 2016 from her previous role as a business development professional at Performity. She comes with more than twenty years of work experience in various fields working for corporations in Singapore, New York and Hong Kong. In this new role, she will be based in Singapore.

Santhi Nair joins APU Malaysia (Asia Pacific University, Malaysia) as senior admin executive, vice chancellor's office Based in Kuala Lumpur, Nair has 10 years of working experience in a multinational corporation and the education industry. She joins APU from GE GG&O where she assisted a number of HR leaders and worked with them on projects and special assignments in her role as executive assistant/training coordinator - human resources.

Nair told Human Resources that her number one action on her agenda in this new role is "quality enhancement" which involves a couple of things.

Nair explains: "This involves the development and improvement of processes, policies and procedures for the University according to the latest ministry of higher education blueprints and industry regulatory requirements."

She added that she aims to advise and ensure that the relevant faculties in campuses are aligned with the compliance of newly implemented  processes and procedures, collaborative audits and annual planning and review.

She added that she would like to "brand the Vice Chancellor's Office to be a change agent in regards of quality enhancement for the University."

Venkateswaran Ramachandran takes up senior position at MIHRM Ramachandran has moved to a senior role, to senior business partner, membership and outsourced services from his previous role as head, graduate employability programme. With 26 years of experience in various industries, Ramachandran was a freelance consultant before he joined MIHRM in 2012. He will be based in Malaysia.

Preeya Tanabalan is regional marketing manager (Asia) at MHI Global A seasoned marketing professional with over 13 years of experience providing strategic marketing planning and implementation in B2B and B2C environments, Tanabalan joined MHI Global in June 2016 from her previous role as regional marketing manager (Asia) at Edmund Optics. She will remain based in Singapore.

Aurecon's new leadership appointments

Giam Swiegers, CEO of Aurecon has announced several changes to the company's leadership team:

Brad McBean is now managing director, advisory at Aurecon McBean joins Aurecon from his previous role as partner within the strategy practice (Strategy&) at PwC Management Consulting.

Aurecon welcomes Stuart Cassie as its ANZ advisory market director Cassie joins Aurecon from his previous role as PwC's managing director Capital Projects.

Gerhard Vorster commissioned by Aurecon Independent consultant Gerhard Vorster - most recently Deloitte’s chief strategy officer and previously Deloitte’s consulting leader in Australia, South Africa, and South East Asia - has been commissioned by Swiegers to advise on the growth of Aurecon’s global advisory business.

McBean, Cassie and Vorster will join Matt Coetzee (ANZ) and Dr Chris Von Holdt (South Africa) to form the leadership team of Aurecon’s advisory practice.

Additionally, the company has appointed Andrew Muller as chief financial officer; Michael Shirley as managing director, clients; Dr Andrew Maher as chief digital officer; and Maureen Thurston as global director, design to innovate.

Appointments by Michael Page

Aveenashpal Ganapathy is associate consultant (HR recruitment) at Michael Page As a head-hunter at Michael Page Malaysia specialising in HR recruitment. Ganapathy's priority is assisting professionals locate new and challenging career possibilities and cooperating with companies in searching qualified, highly skilled talent to fulfil their hiring needs. He joined Michael Page in June 2016 from his previous role as headhunter at Sheffield Executive. He remains based in Kuala Lumpur.

Germaine Lim joins Michael Page as regional PR specialist, APAC - Page Group Lim joined the company in June 2016 from her previous role as senior PR and communications executive (Southeast Asia) at Robert Walters where she was responsible for maintaining a corporate public voice for Robert Walters in the press highlighting its industry leadership. She will remain based in Singapore.

Appointments by Mercer

SiewLing Lay is senior consultant at Mercer Investments Lay has been with Mercer for more than three years, joining as a consultant in the company's Singapore branch in 2013 before relocating to Hong Kong in the same role about a year later. She was recently promoted to the role of senior consultant in April 2016 and will remain based in Hong Kong.

Mercer welcomes Nicole Luk to its team Luk joins Mercer as analyst, talent consulting from her previous role as business development associate - BPDS North Asia where she was responsible for providing senior executives with actionable and peer-tested best practices to enable business effectiveness. She will remain based in Hong Kong.

ALS International appointments

Esther Chua joins ALS International as senior Consultant – accounting and finance With over nine years of specialist experience in recruiting regional accounting and finance professionals, Chua has built a strong network with clients and mid to senior level professionals across various sectors in the region. She is based in Singapore.

Nica Tan specialises in chemical and food science technology Tan focuses on the recruitment of positions including B2B commercial, sales and marketing, technical, and R&D within the chemical and food science technology industries in Southeast Asia.
