Here are the major promotions and job moves in the world of HR for this week.

HR practitioner appointments

Paula Tamura is group talent management manager at DKSH As of September 2017, Paula Tamura has joined DKSH as group talent management manager. Tamura brings with her over ten years of experience working in the human resources function, both in-house and consulting. She specialises in engagement, leadership development, culture alignment and talent management.

Most recently, she was talent management and organisational development manager at Weststar Aviation. She continues to be based in Malaysia.

Ada Cheng climbs the ranks at New Horizons Life Planning Effective September 2017, New Horizons Life Planning has promoted Ada Cheng to manager, project & HRBP. She joined the company is 2016 as assistant manager, project & HRBP.

Cheng has over seven years of experience as a HR practitioner, with previous employers including HSBC and Deloitte. She continues to be based in Hong Kong.

PayPal expands talent acquisition team Ramyah Arasu has joined PayPal as talent acquisition specialist starting July 2017. Before joining PayPal, she worked as a recruitment advisor at Shell where she joined in 2016. She continues to be based in Malaysia.

Hotel ICON promotes Charles Yeung Charles Yeung has been promoted to assistant learning & development manager at Hotel ICON as of September 2017. He has been with the company since 2015 when he joined as learning & development officer.

Yueng holds a bachelor of business administration in HR management and is a certified hospitality educator. He continues to be based in Hong Kong.

Mohd Nizam kamaruzaman takes up expanded role at ON Semiconductor Starting in July 2017, Mohd Nizam kamaruzaman has taken up an expanded role at ON Semiconductor. In addition to being HR manager at ON Semiconductor Vietnam, he is now also HR manager for ON Semiconductor Malaysia - ISMF (Wafer Fab).

Nizam has been with the company since 2012 when he joined as HR business partner. He continues to be based in Malaysia.

Hon Lei Yee  joins the HR team at Klook As of August 2017, Hon Lei Yee  has joined the human resources team at Klook. In her new role, her responsibilities include the full spectrum of recruitment, employee onboarding, and assisting with HR operations and projects. She is part of the global and APAC divisions and continues to be based in Malaysia.

Boonrawd Brewery welcomes HR business partner Starting in August 2017, Por Paramet has taken up his new role as HR business partner at Boonrawd Brewery in Bangkok. He has over seven years of experience in the HR industry in both Thailand and Malaysia.

Most recently, he was HR business partner at CP International Trading. He continues to be based in Thailand.

HR solutions provider appointments

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre welcomes new director of HR Effective August 2017, M. Vickneswaran is director of human resources at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. In his new role, he is responsible for the HR operations and training at the organisation and works closely with the general manager and senior management team.

Vickneswaran has over 18 years of experience in the human resources industry. He continues to be based in Malaysia.

Manulife Asia appoints new president and CEO Anil Wadhwani has been appointed president and CEO of Manulife Asia. He will take up his new role effective November 13, 2017. Wadhwani is a global financial services leader who has spent his 25-year career with Citi, primarily in growth roles across consumer banking in Asia, with a focus on customer experience and digitisation.

He has extensive wealth management and insurance distribution experience, and most recently served as the global head of operations for Citi's consumer bank, based in New York. He has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the US. This global perspective, and the varied leadership roles he has performed, will be valuable as Manulife Asia embarks on its next stage of growth.

Foo Mao Gen heads up Qualtrics' Southeast Asia HQ Following the launch of its Southeast Asia HQ, Qualtrics has announced that Foo Mao Gen will be leading the Singapore-based office as the head of Southeast Asia. He brings with him 20 years of experience in the information technology industry.

In his new role, he will be responsible for scaling the business further to include client success, implementation, marketing, and technical functions to support the rapidly expanding customer base in the region.

Korn Ferry welcomes Tamara Sigerhall as managing consultant Tamara Sigerhall has joined Korn Ferry Futurestep as managing consultant. She brings with her over thirteen years of professional experience in Asia, with specific expertise in identifying high potential HR professionals and defining tailored solutions that will make a lasting, positive impact on organisations.

Prior to her career in search, Sigerhall was a corporate lawyer with Linklaters in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai. She continues to be based in Singapore.

Morgan McKinley strengthens payroll team Julia Yuen has joined Morgan McKinley as APAC senior payroll specialist. She has taken up her new role starting August 2017. Most recently Yuen was senior payroll administrator at The Adecco Group where she joined in 2014 as payroll administrator. She is based in Hong Kong.

WeWork welcomes new head of public affairs Starting September 2017, Jenny Chan is head of public affairs, Asia at WeWork. Prior to taking up her new role, she was vice president business development and marketing (APAC) at The Hoffman Agency. She is based in Hong Kong.

Manpower promotes Grace Ooi to consulting manager Grace Ooi was promoted to consulting manager at Manpower Singapore starting July 2017. She joined the company in 2016 as senior recruitment consultant. She brings with her over six years of experience in the recruitment industry. She continues to be based in Singapore.

April Hoon climbs the ranks at Savvy Effective July 2017, April Hoon has been promoted to senior consultant at Savvy. She joined the company in 2015 as a consultant after working in the marketing industry for four years. She continues to be based in Singapore.

Tableau Software expands sales team Shanon Liang has joined the sales team at Tableau Software as enterprise sales area manager - AU, starting in August 2017. Most recently, she was a consultant - insights & analytics at Randstad where she joined in 2015. She continues to be based in Singapore.

Job movements at Argyll Scott

Argyll Scott promotes Jason Lockwood Jason Lockwood has been promoted to managing exectuive at Argyll Scott. He joined the company in 2015 as an executive. Lockwood took up his new role as of July 2017. He specialises in head hunting mid to senior level non-banking financial services professionals with a focus on strategy, transformation and change management. He continues to be based in Singapore.

Jess Lo joins Argyll Scott As of September 2017, Jess Lo is executive - insurance market at Argyll Scott. She specialises in insurance search across, but not limited to, the Singapore and Hong Kong markets, with a focus on mid to senior level roles in underwriting, distribution, claims, and operations.

Prior to joining Argyll Scott she worked as a recruitment consultant at Darwin Rhodes. She continues to be based in Hong Kong.
