Hong Kong HR job moves at HSBC and Rosewood Hotel Group

Rosewood Hotel boosts its talent acquisition ranks

Ricky Cheung has just been appointed the Rosewood Hotel Group’s corporate director for talent and culture. He will be responsible for the group’s global talent acquisition strategy both in Hong Kong and around the world, including executive hiring, candidate experience, employer branding, analytics and HR Tech.

He adds considerable talent acquisition clout the group, drawing on a vast bank of experience in this area. Prior to his new role, Ricky spent over four years at LinkedIn (2015–2019) where he managed the strategic relationship between LinkedIn and enterprise clients across the region – and spearheaded an initiative that served people with disabilities and promoted mental health within the company.

Ricky also spent a year as talent and rewards consultant at Willis Towers Watson and held significant HR roles at Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank, covering both Hong Kong and Singapore.

HSBC appoints new talent partner

Effective October 2019, Viva Vanessa Villalon has been appointed as talent partner at HSBC APAC (Hong Kong). She has worked for challenging roles in specialist niche roles and executive recruitment in financial and tech startup environments.

Prior to her new Hong Kong-based role at HSBC, Vanessa spent three years as principal resource specialist at Alexander Mann Solutions in the Philippines where she was responsible for screening, scheduling and interviewing candidates using recruitment technology applications such Taleo and iCIMS, among other things. Prior to this she spent three years as a senior recruiter at Uber.
