Last night’s HR Vendors of the Year awards 2016, Malaysia, recognised ManpowerGroup’s excellence in matching the right candidates with the right roles across the talent acquisition spectrum by crowning it the Best Overall Recruitment Firm. [Full list of winners]
Organised by Human Resources and produced by Priya Veeriah, the HR Vendors of the Year awards is the biggest HR industry awards in Asia, held in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, with the Malaysia edition of the gala hosted at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral.
What makes the HR Vendors of the Year Awards unique is its two-tier selection process whereby judging for each of the 128 entries across 23 categories was done by an esteemed jury of 16 senior regional heads of HR from organisations across Asia.
ManpowerGroup’s overall win was backed up gold awards in the categories Best Recruitment Firm – Senior management roles (over US$10k per month) (where Robert Walters clinched silver and CAREER CHANNEL EXECUTIVE SEARCH took bronze), as well as Best Recruitment Firm – Non-management roles (under US$4k per month) (where the silver award went to Robert Walters, and the bronze to Bell Ward).
The recruitment firm also took home the silver awards in the categories Best Recruitment Process Outsourcing Partner (where KellyOCG Malaysia and Resource Solutions walked away with gold and bronze respectively), and Best Recruitment Firm – Mid-management roles US$4k-US$10k per month (where gold was clinched by Robert Walters and bronze by Randstad Malaysia).
Winner Robert Walters bagged another award in the form of the bronze in the Best Employer Branding Consultant category where Bell Ward went home with the gold award, and Iconix Consulting with the silver trophy.
The digital recruitment arena saw some strong nominees in the Best Recruitment Portal category, with Adecco Malaysia securing the gold award, while Spring Professional took home the silver and Michael Page secured the bronze.
To safeguard against unscrupulous candidates, thorough background checks are a must, and that’s where the winners of the Best Background Screening Provider category come in, putting HR professionals’ minds at ease by conducting robust and meticulous checks. First Advantage captivated the judges, taking home the gold award in this domain. While Verity Intelligence (Malaysia), and Sterling Talent Solutions took home the silver and bronze respectively.
In order to prevent recruiters from being overwhelmed by the sheer amount of applications, HR professionals can rely on the winners of the Best Applicant Tracking Software to keep things in check. TIMES SOFTWARE excelled in this area and landed the gold award while Accendo HR and IBM Malaysia scooped up the silver and bronze respectively.
TIMES SOFTWARE was also commended on its top-notch learning management systems in the industry, securing bronze in the Best Learning Management System category while SAP SuccessFactors successfully pulled off a strong gold win, and Leaderonomics took home the silver trophy.
Silver winner Leaderonomics also shone in the leadership development domain and was presented with the gold award in the Best Leadership Development Consultant category where DDI and SCOTWORK ASIA obtained silver and bronze respectively. Leaderonomics also brought home the gold award for the Best Management Training Provider category where KNOLSKAPE took silver and Neville-Clarke (M) got bronze.
Ramco Systems was another big winner on the night, completing a gold victory in the Best Payroll Software category, where it was joined by TIMES SOFTWARE securing the silver award, while ADP walked away with the bronze.
Bronze winner ADP proved itself outstanding in the payroll outsourcing department, winning the gold in the Best Payroll Outsourcing Partner category where Excelity Global Solutions and Symphony Corporatehouse were awarded silver and bronze respectively.
Among the software providers, Oracle was another notable victor, clinching the gold in two categories – Best HR Management System (where SAP SuccessFactors and iTalent Management won silver and bronze respectively) and Best Talent Management Software (where silver went to SAP SuccessFactors and bronze to Unit4 Asia Pacific).

Apart from performing strongly in leadership development, the DDI team confirmed its dominance in the space through a gold trophy in the Best Succession Planning Consultant category. Joining DDI on the winners’ stand were Cubiks Malaysia and Accendo HR, winning silver and bronze respectively.
