A male Apple employee with a bleeding head wound was found dead in a conference room at Apple Infinite Loop headquarters in Cupertino, California, yesterday morning.
The San Jose Mercury News reported that according to an emergency dispatcher, an emergency call came in at 8:35 a.m. reporting a male was bleeding from a head wound. A few minutes later, dispatchers reported that a body and a gun were found in a conference room.
A Santa Clara County Sheriff spokesperson confirmed in a press conference recorded by the Bay Area News Group that a male was found dead and said that “no other individuals were involved” and that “nobody else on campus is at risk.”
The case has been sent to the coroner, the spokesperson added.
“This is an ongoing investigation and we cannot release any further details at this time,” said Sgt. Andrea Urena of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office
An employee who spoke on condition of anonymity with San Jose Mercury News said most employees do not know who died and that employees were given the option of taking the rest of the day off. Grief counselling was also being offered.
