This article is brought to you by BDO Hong Kong.
BDO Hong Kong is well-known for its traditional professional services offerings such as audit and tax, but not many people are aware of its long history and experience in providing business services and outsourcing.
Outsourcing in the digital era
Living in an era of digital transformation and advancements in technology, along with globalisation, brings new challenges to almost all businesses, but it also furnishes exciting opportunities. In view of this, BDO successfully developed an all-in-one employee-self-service platform “Valise” for its clients. The official launch of Valise in March 2017 saw BDO as a pioneer in the professional accounting industry with this online employee-self-service (ESS) platform.
The single platform allows employees to retrieve payslips and employers tax returns, make leave applications and claim expenses. It also facilitates the employee’s rental reimbursement applications. BDO is the first accounting firm in Hong Kong that has developed this type of online ESS platform.
The online services via Valise complement the rest of BDO’s business services which includes fully managed payroll services, HR administration services and accounting and treasury services. With Valise, payroll, salaries tax, leave and expense information are centralised and retrievable online.
“We are a service-driven professional service provider, not a systems vendor. Valise is one of the many tools BDO has developed to level up our service deliveries and enhance clients’ user experience,” said Portia Tang, director and head of professional resources solutions and client services at BDO.
As a testament to the strength of BDO’s outsourcing team, it secured a deal with Boeing, a large global payroll project that triggered over US$2 million in system investment.
Winning the talent war
The rapid expansion of BDO has meant challenges in recruiting quality personnel.
Knowing first-hand what it’s like dealing with a talent crunch, BDO turned this into a business opportunity. To assist its clients’ short to medium term professional resourcing needs, it recently launched its new service line – Professional Resources Solutions (PRS).
PRS aims to complement existing BDO services and most importantly, capitalise on its continuously expanding talent pools to support its clients in meeting all their project resourcing and staff augmentation requirements.
PRS provides the right quality talent and seasoned professionals in response to a client’s temporary or project-based needs in different aspects of their business growth.
“We’re big enough to be able to access the best group of experts for our clients’ needs from our national and international networks, yet we’re small enough to be responsive and innovative in tackling our clients’ challenges,” said Tang.
Its global commitment to exceptional client service means that BDO delivers on its promises. Its agility, responsiveness and innovation makes BDO an outstanding global partner in outsourcing.
