Apple terminates recruiters, slashes bonuses

Apple's declining performance has slowed talent demand in the company.

As a result, the tech giant has been cutting all of its contract recruiters in the past week,  reports VentureBeat,

In additional to the contract recruiters, the firm is also letting go some full-time recruiters, affecting more than 100 people.

Apple currently has no public job postings for recruiters.

The company's shares fell below US$100 for the first time since February on Tuesday after the announcement of its quarterly results which saw a 26% decline of its revenue from Greater China.

Amid such poor performance, Apple has also changed the incentive structure for its recruiters.

A bonus that gives recruiters 40% of a new employee’s base salary has been dropped to 10-15%, and the bonus may even go away entirely.

Despite the reports of recruiting cuts, Apple has, in recent months, been hiring aggressively for its rumored car project, taking on employees from companies like Ford, Tesla, GM, MIT Motorsports, General Dynamics, Samsung and more.
