According to recruitment firm Ambition’s latest Hong Kong Market Insights for H2 2018, the employment outlook in Hong Kong remains positive in the second half of 2018. The report covers the latest job market trends and salary benchmarks, with a focus on the outlook for the second half of 2018.

The report anticipates the job market to remain active across several industries, with high demand for individuals with specific technical skillsets. Data analytics is one such skill that companies demand. The demand is not limited to tech companies and professionals with experience are likely to receive more than one job offer, it said. Another trend was the uptick in contract hiring as companies adopt a more flexible workforce approach. This allows them to expand their headcount to support key business transformation and growth projects whilst ensuring they remain nimble in the event of any downturn in economic activity.
