根據英國醫學期刊(British Medical Journal,簡稱BMJ)旗下《職業與環境醫學》(Occupational & Environmental Medicine)期刊發表的研究,相比在私人房間和隔間,員工在開放式辦公室工作,同事之間沒有屏障分隔(也稱為開放式座位),據稱工作會更起勁,壓力也較小。

研究調查231名受訪者,開放式座位的員工遠較私人房間(31.83%)和隔間(20.16%)內的更有拼勁。除在辦公室更有活力外,即使下了班,心理壓力也較少(少9.10%)。這個發現與研究結果一致,反映員工即使下了班,仍可能受到辦公室某些設計影響。

 

研究報告提到:「雖然活力和建築環境設計之間的關係相當複雜,當中往往包含文化因素,但本研究顯示,在某些情況下,改善設計有助消除各類型辦公室不利健康的影響。」
