Singapore - Twenty-four FedEx workers recently got to rub shoulders with local swimming sensation, Tao Li, while digging into the dirt for charity.

Last week, volunteers from FedEx participated in a home-building exercise, which aimed to build a home for an underprivileged family in Batam, Indonesia. This is part of a long-term project to which the logistics company has committed. It has also donated US$30,000 (S$44,000 ) to non-government organisation Habitat for Humanity's Batam Build programme as well.

Ramesh K Singam, managing director of FedEx Express Singapore says their employees were delighted to be able to work alongside Tao Li. “FedEx has a strong culture of giving back to the communities that we live and work in, and our employees are actively encouraged to be involved in these types of initiatives to help improve the quality of life for those who are less fortunate.

Tao Li adds, “This is a terrific opportunity for me to do something for the community, joining this great group of volunteers from FedEx in this meaningful cause.”
