UK - While companies have talent management programmes in place, many are not seeing results.
According to a survey conducted by Hewitt, 73% of respondents believe that the company has an appropriate talent management programme implemented. However, 55% also say this talent strategy is not reflected in the decisions made by front-line leaders. The survey also found that 84% say lack of time is an impediment in managing employees effectively.
Nick Warren, head of talent consulting for Hewitt says HR has to work on executing talent management programmes and ensuring that line managers follow suit. "Many line managers do not have the capacity, time, or will to manage people properly. As a result, too many businesses are failing to attract the right people or develop the talent they have," he adds.
