What are your areas of coaching and why did you choose this specialty?

I specialise in presentation training and media training, which are quite similar to each other, because all forms of communication require presentation. Whether you are presenting to your colleagues or to your customers or even to the media, these skills will maximise your presentation to the public.

Most people think the media is knowledgeable and as a result, people give them the control and the power. I love showing people how they can take control and use the media to their advantage instead.

What makes your training unique?

I have a passion for taking people on the learning curve and teaching them the rules of the media game. My training helps them to understand the media better.

I will show case studies and video examples of real-life situations that will empower people by learning what goes on behind them. I talk the participants into role play exercises such as mock television and radio interviews and I bring in professional television camera crew to film them. I teach them how to prepare their quotes and key messages and make them understand that key messages need to be updated every so often, depending on the situations that determine it. I bring to life the ways companies can make use of the media to protect themselves in the face of any incidents.

How much does a session cost?

It would be S$5,000 per day.

How will your training benefit your participants?

We train everyone in the whole organisation from the front line to the CEO in separate sessions so everybody is singing from the same hymn page. In the event of a crisis and the media wants answers, they will go to your reception staff the same way they go to any middle managers. Hence, it will be better for the company if everybody knows the same set of rules to behave with the media.

The employees will be media savvy and completely clued in to what the media game is about. They will understand how to use the media to make a company’s brand or product a household name.

What companies have you worked with?

I have worked with Bank of Melbourne, Michelin (Singapore) and Nokia.

How can people contact you?

You can reach me at http://www.selfleadership.com
