IT managers make a killing

Singapore - IT senior managers can rejoice as they can look forward to a 10% to 20% increase in wages this year. 

In the latest Kelly Services Singapore Salary Handbook 2008/2009, salaries for various positions across industries in Singapore have stabilised , with salary ranges broadening as well.

The broadened salary ranges are likely to include the human resource, sales, office support and marketing and advertising functions.

Senior management with technical and professional skills and certain IT skills can expect higher entry salaries as well. An analyst programmer or software engineer can expect between 15% to 20% rise in their minimum salary whereas an engineering director can receive a 10% increment from last year's minimum salary.

Dhirendra Shantilal, senior vice president, Asia Pacific, Kelly Services stated that the creation of new job functions is anticipated as a result of the growth in the finance and research sectors and the expansion of service sector.

He added: "Companies will be looking for talent with the right competency set and positive mindset to fill these positions so it would help the local workforce here to look into skills upgrading programmes to adapt to a changing economic landscape."
