Singapore – A regular refresher programme has been developed ensure that KFC's chefs maintain the preparation and cooking process of its famous chicken.

Virginia Ng, marketing director, KFC Singapore said consumers often chose the outlet for its chicken.

"This is precisely the reason for the recertification programme - to ensure the cooks refresh themselves with the cooking and marinating methods so that they deliver consistent taste, texture and tenderness of the chicken to our consumers," she adds.

Equipped with an advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment from Workforce Development Agency (WDA), KFC veterans who have climbed up the ladder of success and achieve an average of 15 years of service will be given the responsibility of conducting the training.

Trainers will be providing the cooks with a "show & tell" on the procedures, a 25 question test and a hands-on by the cooks to display what they have just learnt. The sessions will also include enhancements to the cooking procedures while ensuring stringent adherence to standards and procedures.

This refresher course is a day-long programme and is conducted in the kitchens of particular KFC restaurants with estimated 12 cooks being re-trained at any one time.
