In a nutshell
    John Haime teaches participants how to manage their leadership and emotional intelligence skills using golfing analogies in a course called “Mastering the game: Leadership Effectiveness at Work, in Life and in Golf”.

    Why the beautiful game of golf? As Haimes explains, what really separates the top golfers from the heap is their ability to keep their emotions in check when the pressure and the tension of the game start to run high. This ability to understand a person’s emotions and manage it to deliver results consistently under pressure is one of the biggest lessons that Haime drives across in this course.

    Haime started out as a professional golfer six years ago, from 1985 to 1990, having completed numerous international golf tours in Canada, Australia and Asia. One of his career highs included scoring a low 62 at the Ivanhoe Classic in Melbourne Australia. After that, he worked as a corporate world trade policy consultant.

    Having been a trainer for the past 10 years, Haimes delves in the areas of executive coaching, teambuilding, leadership and performance. Some of the clients Haines has trained include Cisco Systems, Nortel, GlaxoSmithKline and KPMG.  To showcase how effective his workshops are, Haimes points out that experiential learning increases learning capacity by 30%.

Delivery style
Haimes utilises both lessons from the classroom and on the golf course to teach – using videos of golfing tournaments to explain how sporting giants such as Tiger Woods manage their emotional intelligence.

Cost
Cost per participant for a public workshop costs S$2,300 + GST, or $2,000 + GST in groups of four. Fees also include green fees, golf clinic, Emotional and Social Intelligence assessments, course materials and meals. Courses can also be customised to cater to a company’s needs.
