Singapore – A software that can indicate employees’ activities with their emails is likely to affect employees’ level of productivity in the office.
The Singapore-made software by Lantone Information Systems has a ticketing system that allows management to know how long employees take to attend to an email or whether they read it at all. The beta version of the email software, FocalScope, has been on trial at five MNCs in Singapore for almost five to six months now, with Griffin Travel being one of them.
Before the software was introduced, employees at the company are often encouraged to give feedback on improving the email system so that can be made to facilitate their work. Griffin Travel hopes to address some of these feedbacks with FocalScope.
For employees who are uncomfortable with their emails being tracked when the ticketing system, Griffin Travel highlights to them that the changes introduced are in line with the feedback they gave to the company. “For employees who initially object, change is usually main the issue,” Leny Widjaya, CBU Supervisor of Griffin Travel told Human Resources.
Although employees know that their emails are being tracked, this is not the main reason for the increased level of productivity in the company. Widjaya credited the improvement to the software, as it makes handing over projects easier since information can now be shared among the team or department.
Lantone founder Sandeep Singhania summarised, “The software allows the company to interact with its clients as an entity instead of an individual replying to the email.”
