Singapore – The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has launched its tabletop advertising campaign to increase awareness on illegal employment and deployment of foreign workers.

The tabletops will be featured in 80 restaurants and coffee shop across the island which are popular among foreigners and coffee shops across the island. They have different visuals in the four main languages with messages targeted at employees as well as employers. This is the second year MOM is running the campaign and has increased from 24 to 80 outlets this year.

Produced by MCCM Media & Sketchworxs, the campaign hopes to deter Employment and S-pass holders from breaking employment laws and also deter employers from employing foreign workers illegally.

Malcolm Choi, managing director of MCCM Media says that the campaign aims to generate word-of-mouth exposure among foreign workers. “Since they are not here with their families, most of them eat out with their friends and colleagues so this will promote mutual influence among peers.”

Evaluation for the campaign will take place after it ends in early March.
