Maud Manzen has been appointed to the position of Asia Pacific human resources business partner at Borland Software Corporation, a software provider. Drawing upon more than a decade of HR expertise, Manzen's key responsibilities in her new role include partnering HR with business, developing talent and managing the compensation & benefits function. Prior to her appointment, Manzen was a member of a global team at TetraPak for two years where she helped to implement SAP R/3. She was the e-HR director of change management and the process lead for people development. For more than five years, in Sweden, Manzen was an senior HR manager at Sun Microsystems, after her stint at Apple Computers as an HR manager.

Natasha Mathur has joined worldwide engineering and asset management company AMEC as the new programme manager for AMEC Services. Mathur joins the global recruitment arm of AMEC after four years at General Electric as head of senior management recruitment. Mathur brings with her over 10 years of personnel experience and she will be responsible for managing performance, developing talent management strategies, overseeing compensation & benefits and aligning resourcing plans to business needs. Her role is a vital one as she is part of the regional centre that services international hiring needs and manages AMEC's globally mobile workforce.

Marion Choy is the new compensation & benefits manager of Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore's first private university funded by the government. In her new role, Choy will be in charge of conducting salary reviews, managing the smooth outsourcing of payroll matters and ensuring that SMU's flexible benefits programme remain competitive. Choy holds over five years of rewards experience in the business consulting industry. Prior to joining SMU, she was manager at Ernst & Young Associates for more than two years. Commenting on her appointment, Choy says, "This role allows me to develop and implement solutions that will help SMU and its people."

Winston Chue is one of Orchard Hotel's most recent HR hires and his new role is assistant human resources manager of training. Chue joins the hotel after a six-year career at Singapore Airlines (SIA) as a flight steward and crew trainer. During his stint at SIA, Chue won the coveted SIA Quarterly Service Excellence award. The quarterly award recognises employees who received the most number of complimentary letters commending the excellent standard of service rendered to passengers. In Orchard Hotel, Chue's initial focus will be on training the food & beverage department and the rooms division in customer service techniques and best practices.
