INTERNET-BASED TRAVEL WEBSITE TO SHARE ON NON-CASH REWARDS
Singapore – Lighthouse Independent Media, publishers of Human Resources, is delighted to announce the next speaker for its premium regional conference, Employee Benefits Live Asia 2012, Linda Lim, head of people & culture, AirAsia Expedia. Lim will address the topic of non-cash rewards – a subject considered to be a simple idea, but one that remains a challenge for many human resources professionals.
Lim has over 15 years of experience in the field of human resources management, with corporate experience in areas such as talent management, talent acquisition, organisation development, learning & development, sales compensation, general employee compensation & benefits. Since joining AirAsia Expedia, Lim has worked alongside her colleagues on the Leadership Team to drive organisational performance through workforce success, while building a remarkable culture within the organisation.
“Motivating people has to go beyond dollars and cents,” said Lim. “Unfortunately, managers, especially in Asia, tend to overestimate the effectiveness of more cash and underestimate the impact of a simple thank you, praise or a thoughtful gesture.”
“I am looking forward to sharing what AirAsia Expedia has done and am excited to discover more innovative ways to build long-term employee engagement while participating in the panel discussion.”
Some of the other companies represented on the Employee Benefits Live Asia agenda are Facebook, Panasonic, GlaxoSmithKline, Diageo, Expedia, Huntsman, Seagate, DFS, Banyan Tree, AirAsia and many more. All presenters and panellists, such as Bonita Lee, GSK’s vice president of human resources Asia Pacific, are director or vice president level HR professionals.
The theme of Employee Benefits Live Asia 2012 is Global Best Practice Compensation, Benefits & Rewards Strategy and the impressive list of speakers and panellists will be focusing on Benefits & Rewards Strategy.
The conference topics are Salaries, Talent Management, Flexible Benefits, Emerging Markets, Employee Healthcare, Non-cash Rewards and Employee Communication – seven topics which an exhaustive research and consultation process found to be the most pertinent to the HR profession in Asia Pacific.
Employee Benefits Live Asia is the Asian edition of the successful conference in the UK, Employee Benefits Live, which is produced by Centaur Media’s Employee Benefits magazine. The two-day annual event is 100% focused on global best practice compensation, benefits and rewards strategy, features an agenda dominated by case studies and the opinions of senior HR practitioners and attracts a large audience of compensation & benefits specialists, HR generalists and CEOs/MDs involved in compensation & benefits strategy.
Employee Benefits Live Asia is a collaboration between Centaur Media, publisher of Employee Benefits magazine in the UK, and Lighthouse Independent Media, publisher of Human Resources magazine in Asia. The event will be held on 1-2 August 2012 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore.
