LEADERSHIP     CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

Singapore - The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) has plans to roll out a new leadership programme to help local companies to overcome human capital-related challenges.

The "Leadership for Success" programme, designed in partnership with consultancy firm Mercer, will complement existing SPF-Hay Human Capital workshops and the federation's mentorship programme. The new initiative aims to help firms keep abreast of people management challenges.

In addition, SBF hopes the programme will help business leaders develop skills that further drive organisational excellence. The programme also aims to deliver practical best practices in business through its "Leading for Organisational Performance" framework.

According to SBF's chief operating officer Victor Tay, today's ever changing marketplace requires leadership competencies to be "constantly re-examined" and "shaped to align with changing environments".

He noted that the programme will be especially vital for leaders since "effective leadership [in firms] is paramount for sustainable business growth, competitive workforce performance and stability."

Tay was addressing some 100 participants at a forum organised by the Ministry of Manpower and SBF on "Maximizing Human Capital Potential for Sustainable Business Growth".

More information on the programme can be found at www.sbf.org.sg
