EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT     WORK-LIFE BALANCE

Singapore - Last Friday, Standard Chartered saw a record response for its employee engagement initiative Kids @ Work 2010 at Asian Civilisations Museum and its new premises at Changi Business Park.

Over 390 children and 220 parents attended the event where kids participated in art and crafts workshops, toured an endangered plant species garden and spent time at their parents' work stations. This is an increase from 140 parents who brought their kids to work in 2009.

Under the "MCYS Little Ones at Work" initiative where companies are encouraged to ask employees to take their children to work, the bank hopes to help kids understand their parents' workplace better and appreciate their efforts. The bank said, "It helps parents and children to bond and have fun despite the challenges of maintaining work life harmony."

Each child also received their own Standard Chartered name tag and lanyard as a personal touch. In addition, over 450 participants attended the CEO tea session with its regional chief executive for Singapore and Southeast Asia, Ray Ferguson.
