Waving your work woes away

Do the limitations of the shared network in your company bother you from time to time? Your colleagues and you can email, copy and edit the documents in the drive, and circulate them through emails and instant messaging. However, you can’t edit the documents when someone else is doing so, find out who edited what, and, worst of all, your inbox becomes congested with so many different copies of the same document that you can’t figure out which is the latest. Convoluted virtual discussion threads confuse you, your colleague’s attempt to keep you in the know by forwarding you the conversations from the beginning frustrates you further, and you can’t do anything but mutter unintelligible words in front of your computer screen. Two words for you – Google Wave.

Five reasons why you should use Google Wave:

1. It’s free.

2. You can now simultaneously edit your documents with your colleagues in real time.

3. Your colleagues and you can compile meeting notes together at the same time on the same virtual page.

4. You can finally not worry about visiting the lavatory in the middle of a meeting, as you won’t have to bother someone else to
repeat the things discussed during your absence.

5. You no longer face the problem of computer hang-ups by opening too many conversation windows and email attachments at the
same time.
