Singapore - As the Southeast Asia becomes an important market for organisations, companies in the engineering sector are now looking for HR practitioners with regional experience.

In the latest Robert Walter's Singapore Quarter 1 Engineering Sector Market Update released yesterday, it found that the business sentiment within the engineering sector has picked up in the first quarter of 2010.

The Robert Walters report stated that the financial crisis has led to organisations creating greater efficiency within their HR function through the use of outsourcing and up-skilling.

However, Robert Walters also predicts that middle-management HR professionals will be highly sought after this year, as there is a smaller pool of such candidates compared to those at junior levels.

"We have also observed that HR professionals from the industrial sector are typically stronger in HR processes. As such, they will be sought after by organisations looking to improve HR processes and systems," the report added.
