Bizarre HR

US – A pair of 9-year-old twins have jeopardised their father’s career as an air traffic controller by illegally operating the controls during a work visit.

Brother-in-law of suspended Kennedy Airport air traffic controller Glenn Duffy, 48, Larry Johnstone, said the twins were remorseful for giving instructions to pilots without their father’s permission, the New York Daily News reported.

Commenting on Duffy’s personality, Johnstone asserted that his sister’s husband "is the safest guy in the world. He wouldn't do anything that would hurt or put anybody in jeopardy." He also commented that Duffy’s children were upset and “felt it was their fault ... They were thinking, 'Daddy’s in trouble because of me.”

Johnstone also felt that the incident was regretfully unfortunate as many people too have brought their children to work but it was just in the severe nature of Duffy’s job that did not allow mistakes like that.

Duffy was suspended with pay pending the outcome of a Federal Aviation Administration investigation.
