BIZARRE HR

UK – London cab drivers may have to take courses to learn how to provide their passengers with the best ‘silent treatment’.

As London cab drivers are known to be vocal, a course teaching them to remain quiet during a cab ride is deemed to be necessary by the taxi regulation authorities.

The Daily Telegraph reported that optional courses for cab drivers may be made mandatory to upgrade the quality of taxi services.

Identifying passengers who would prefer a quiet cab ride and transporting disabled passengers are two of the potential compulsory course subjects to improve customer service of cab drivers.

London cab drivers have a reputation for being dynamic and entertaining; however, the city’s head of taxi regulation, John Mason, believes that there is “always room for improvement”. He also believes that silence may be preferred by some customers hence the course that teaches cab drivers to identify those will definitely come in handy.
