Leadership training comes up tops
Singapore – Leadership, mentorship schemes and training programmes (29%) were mentioned most often by Singaporean companies as the top measure of driving employee enagagement and retaining top talent. Mike Game, CEO of Hudson Asia, says this is because the economic recovery has reinforced the need for Singaporean companies to retain, engage and motivate staff.
64% of respondents said that the company performance would be “good” in 2010, with an additional 14% forecasting the performance to be “excellent”.
30% of Hong Kong respondents said increasing salaries and bonuses was the most sought-after strategy for engagement and retention issues.
13% said they would offer employees more flexibility or change in work weeks.
22% of 400 key executives surveyed said increasing salaries and bonuses will help drive employee engagement, while increasing monetary benefits such as medical and educational allowances ranked as the third most popular choice (11%).
