EXECUTIVE MOBILITY RECRUITMENT
US - The senior executive recruitment industry is predicted to grow this year with an increased demand for leadership talent in both healthcare and energy sectors.
According to the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) Member Outlook survey, 91% out of 268 executive search consultants polled have a neutral to positive outlook for the senior recruitment industry in 2010. They predict that the healthcare/life sciences and energy/natural resources industries will see the most growth in 2010. Over half of respondents also plan to hire more consultants this year with 77% predicting revenues to increase.
Regionally, China will have the greatest demand for talent, followed by India, said executive search consultants worldwide. AESC president Peter Felix said senior leaders are now realising the "paramount importance" having quality executive teams in the new economic environment.
It helps that senior executive candidates are twice more likely to consider a career move in 2010 than they were in 2009. But concerns about market instability and the state of the economy will be key factors for them to consider before moving. "There is a discernible change in the attitude of senior executives as they compare and evaluate opportunities within their existing workplace against new opportunities elsewhere," said Felix. "Those willing to consider a move can be highly rewarded."
