ADECCO

Singapore - The three most popular career choices children living in Singapore aspire to be are lawyers, doctors and teachers.

After Adecco Singapore surveying children aged between seven to 14, it found that those who indicated wanting to become a doctor said so because they wanted to help people.

Other career aspirations cited by children also included a weapons engineer, F1 driver, game critic and entertainer. Others said they wanted to become a dancer, a food critic and a model.

In addition, 93% of respondents said that spending time with their family was more important than making money - up from last year's 88%.

Lynne Ng, regional director for Adecco South East Asia said that while respondents surveyed came from diverse family backgrounds, nearly all of them showed signs of being in touch with their hopes and future aspirations. "Children in Singapore sometimes get criticized for being too materialistic, although we're pleased to say that again our survey has shown otherwise."
