Just how much can expatriate employees expect to pay for their children’s education in school? Lee Quane, general manager of ECA International provides a ballpark figure of what companies (or assignees) can expect to pay for a spot at an international school, per child each year.

Hong Kong

US$12,838 ($18,284)

Beijing

US$21,246 ($30,260)

Shanghai

US$29,705 ($42,353)

Ho Chi Minh City

US$13,674 ($19,470)

New Delhi

*Data is based on a representative sample of international schools in each location and are based on tuition fees for secondary education between grades 7-12. Additional fees such as debentures, deposits, enrolment fees etc are not included.
