Who Florence Chan
From SAP
To Computer Sciences Corporation
As the new vice president of HR Asia in Computer Sciences Corporation, Florence Chan is responsible for the full spectrum of strategic HR for CSC Asia. Her journey with CSC began during her first interview, where she saw many opportunities where HR could make a significant different to the company. Previously, she was in charge of integrating the recently-acquired Business Objects and SAP from a HR perspective. In Chan’s opinion, one of the biggest challenges for HR is “the ability to make connection with the business and articulate HR’s value”. She believes the true value of HR is revealed when a business starts to see HR as an important value-added partner, and is able to relate to the HR programmes. To Chan, HR should be at the driver’s seat, steering and shaping the culture of the organisation. At CSC, she looks forward to going to work every morning as she is able to see how HR is slowly making an impact on the business.
