Singapore – Conference calls may not prove to be all that effective as compared to meetings as participants often use the time to multi-task , finds a new survey conducted by Hilton Hotels.

After polling 233 middle to senior business professionals, 81%  of respondents admit to sending emails while on conference calls. Sales and marketing vice president of Hilton Hotels Asia Pacific, Andrew Flack, says many respondents feel that “face-to-face meetings are where the real business gets done and where the biggest breakthroughs are made”.

94% of business professionals agree that meetings can build stronger business relationships.

84% believe meetings result in people feeling more inspired compared to other forms of communication.

77% of senior executives describe offsite meetings as a necessity and not a luxury.

20% of respondents say they help themselves to alcoholic drinks when on conference calls.
