Singapore - With AXA's newly-built campus in Singapore, the company is all set to search and develop talent in Asia's competitive market.
AXA University Asia Pacific Campus is the first AXA campus in the Japan Asia-Pacific region and will be the training ground for technical, organisational, leadership and cultural skills of the company's employees and agents. The campus will also host global R&D initiatives, group or regional conferences, and client education events.
"We want to attract talent in the AXA group. We want to be the training ground for insurance executives in the region for the next 30 years," says John R. Dacey, group regional CEO for AXA Japan Asia-Pacific.
Despite the economic crisis, it believes that the $10 million investment in the new campus is strategic decision. Because the search for talent in Asia is going to be challenging and competitive, and having an outstanding training facility will give them an edge over the rest, says Henri de Castries, chairman and CEO of the AXA Management Board.
Deputy managing director of Monetary Authority of Singapore Ong Chong Tee adds that AXA's establishment of the campus in Singapore is "a major initiative that will add to other manpower development and training efforts for the financial sector in Singapore, as well as for the rest of Asia".
