Role Description:
Position reports to Regional Head of Human Resource, APAC and Country Head of HR, Japan. As a member of both the functional and country HR business partner teams, act as the key, strategic, interface between HR and specific business areas, in order to proactively support and add value in the delivery of their business objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
(1)Work in partnership with the business areas, to fully understand the key business drivers and needs, of current and future challenges.
(2) Take the strategic HR lead in corporate working parties and project teams, promoting best practice and sound innovation in dealing with challenging situations.
(3) Collaborate with the business, utilising business intelligence and analysis to integrate people issues into the business planning cycle.
(4) Give a strategic HR perspective regarding business development & planning
(5) Actively participate with the senior management team in the leadership and organisation of the business unit.
(6) Work in partnership with HR colleagues to ensure consistent, proactive HR support to deliver the overall business agenda.
(7) Scope and challenge existing HR policies and practices with appropriate HR specialists and seek to continuously improve the services provided to the business.
(8) Undertake project work, lead HR working groups and identify areas of improvement within HR systems and processes.
Requirements:
The suitable candidate will be expected to be educated with a Bachelor of Human Resource Management or a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource. A strong HR background and a thorough understanding and practical experience of financial services sectors would be an advantage. Seven to ten years of demonstrable generalist HR management experience, covering most major HR functions -recruitment, development, performance management, reward, employment legislation. This candidate is seen as the first line expert by line managers - must handle issues through applied skills and knowledge ahead of going to Head of HR for advice, covering the majority of day-to-day issues themselves. Knowledge of the Japan market is critical to the success of the role.
