What are your areas of coaching and why did you choose this specialty?

I specialise in project management, Lean Six Sigma and leadership programmes. Choosing these areas is really a logical progression as I had worked in an IT and business consulting environment which required competencies in coaching, mentoring and facilitation.

What makes your training unique?

Typically, participants would experience lively, interactive sessions which make them fully engaged from the start to the end. I would explain difficult concepts, theories using day to day examples which all of us have experienced in one way or another. Once the concepts are understood, we hit the ground and apply the learning in the real-life work environment.

How much does a session cost?

A session costs S$4,000 to $4,500 per day depending on the complexity of the programme and excluding travel expenses.

How will your training benefit your participants?

I deliver a full range of project management training, from a practical two-day course to advanced-level certification programmes.

For a short course on project management, participants will take away a practical and systematic process to initiate, plan, control and monitor their projects until closure. For operational excellence, in the Lean and Six Sigma programme, participants will be provided with opportunities to learn world-class, data-driven problem solving and decision-making methodology through various real-life simulation games.

What companies have you worked with?

I have worked with Nokia, SingTel and McDonald’s.

How long have you been a trainer?

More than four years.

What was your profession before you started as a trainer?

I was in regional business (eBusiness). My previous positions include general manager (IT) and head of project office.

What made you decide to be a trainer?

I was given an opportunity to run a training business in 1993 which allowed me to work with established trainers from all over the world, which I really enjoyed. In 2004, I was recommended by an ex-colleague to her new CEO who was desperately looking a bilingual trainer to deliver project management programs in China. I took up that assignment initially on part-time basis before committing myself to this new career. I have never looked back since.

What school did you graduate from?

I graduated with an MBA from Nanyang Technological University, PMP certificate and Six Sigma BlackBelt (ASQ).

How can people contact you?

My contact number is 98256695 or yeechanglow@yahoo.com.sg, or Yee-Chang.Low@iil.com.
