This award goes to the organisation which recognises, rewards and promotes from within. The organisation will have demonstrated a history of cultivating leaders from within the company. Entrants will have to provide a leadership development plan, training processes, and support provided to help potential leaders transition to a management position.
Excellence in Mature Workforce Practices
This award goes to the organisation which recognises the contributions of a mature workforce. The organisation will be one which practises non-age discriminatory hiring, and has a training and development plan for the mature workforce. Entrants will have to provide details on policies and practices designed for a mature workforce. Workplace well-being will also be taken into consideration.
Excellence in Recruitment & Retention Strategy
Judges will be looking for evidence of innovation and bottom line contribution through enhanced recruitment and improved retention. It gives a lot of focus on budgets for finding the right employees, and providing an attractive development and benefits strategy to nurture and increase employees’ satisfaction.
This category also requires organisations to elaborate on the recruitment process (the different recruitment platforms and activities used), and provide statistics on the retention rate.
Excellence in Talent Management
This award goes to the organisation which has a sound talent management strategy and has an excellent understanding of the requirements of the business and the ability to identify key gaps between talent in place and talent required to drive business success.
Entrants should provide evidence of accurate hiring and promotion decisions which ultimately helped achieve business goals.
Excellence in Workplace Well-Being
This award goes to the organisation which provides the best workplace environment for its employees. Judges will look at how conducive and healthy the workplace is, and how it ultimately helps employees perform better.
SME Employer of the Year
This award recognises small businesses (with fewer than 100 employees) which have demonstrated a significant effort in making their organisation a great place to work.
Judges will look at how the different policies and practices designed and implemented have helped the organisation to become the employer of choice in a competitive small business environment.
HR Team of the Year
Awarded to a team that has achieved exceptional results in key considerations such as team morale and engagement, teamwork and cohesiveness, the team’s contribution to the organisation’s business strategy and its implementation of specific HR initiatives.
Excellence in Innovative Use of HR Technology
Does your HR department make use of cutting-edge software in recruitment, payroll and employee communication? If so, then this is the category for you. This award recognizes how your organisation uses leading software to increase efficiency between business units, save costs and increase employee productivity. Provide types of software/technology and elaborate on their use and evidence of how they have helped increase ROI.
Excellence in HR Social Media
This award goes to the most “social” HR department. If your department uses social media in all employee communications, then this is the category for you.
Entrants should elaborate on the variety of social media platforms used, and for what activity. Explain why social media was chosen over other platforms and how it has helped the organisation achieve business efficiency. Case studies on your most creative and innovative social media HR campaigns will substantiate your entry.
Excellence in Graduate Development
This award honours the organisation which has a sound graduate development plan, starting from the recruitment process, to the training and evaluation process of the graduates.
Entrants must provide the training and development plan, as well as the budget set aside to execute these plans. The graduate retention rates must also be provided.
Excellence in Employer Branding
This award goes to the employer who demonstrates creativity and innovation in branding campaigns, which are executed to attract potential employees. Entrants are expected to provide the recruitment statistics.
Excellence in Employee Engagement
Judges will be looking for an employment engagement strategy which has made a difference to an organisation’s business and performance.
Entrants should provide details of the strategy, as well as how it has improved the organisation’s performance. Examples can be motivational programmes, company participation in an external event which required team participation, etc. Results should be supported by relevant metrics
Excellence in Employee Development
This award recognises the HR strategy which has a clear development plan for each employee. Entrants are required to elaborate on a development programme which maximizes the potential of all levels of the workforce. The development plan will ultimately support the organisation’s goals.
Excellence in CSR Practices
This award honours the organisation which incorporates CSR programmes into the overall HR strategy and encourages employees to be a part of CSR initiatives. Entrants should demonstrate how CSR is making a difference to its employees and how it has impacted business objectives.
Entrants are encouraged to provide any measurable evidence of how the CSR programme has impacted the company’s bottom line
Excellence in Cross-Border HR Programmes
This award recognises regional HR programmes or initiatives which have met business objectives. It focuses on how a sound HR programme has enabled organisations to bring their brand overseas and attract a diverse workforce.
It also looks at how multinational brands co-ordinate and synergise their HR programmes to meet differing needs in different markets. Cross-border HR programmes under this category must have been implemented and co-ordinated from the Singapore office.
Excellence in Training, Learning & Development Programmes
In this category, judges will be looking for those that invest effectively in an innovative L&D strategy that addresses an important business issue. A narrative that illustrates how the strategy was implemented and the journey from implementation to success. Evidence of genuine board-level commitment to learning and development. Evidence of success: return on investment and how it has strengthened the organisation – please use metrics, anecdotes and case studies. Judges will look for evidence of impact and how this is evaluated.
Excellence in Compensation & Benefits Strategy
This award recognises the compensation and benefits strategy which is aligned to human resources strategies and action plans. It emphasises the importance of schemes which are developed and implemented for employees based on an organisation’s policy.
Entrants are expected to elaborate on how the scheme manages staff performances in order to achieve the organisation’s objectives and targets. The entry should also include information about how the compensation and benefits strategy is communicated to employees.
Excellence in HR Strategic Plan
This award recognises the HR team that has driven and implemented the most innovative and successful strategic plan. In this category, judges will be looking for the outline of the project within the last 12 – 18 months that relates to the strategic plan, including timelines of the project, anecdotal evidence of the drivers behind the strategic plan and clear communication of the strategy purpose with an evidence of outstanding execution and project management that demonstrated outcomes that met or exceeded planned business objectives.
Excellence in Employee Work-Life Balance
This award recognises programmes which help employees achieve a healthy work-life balance. The programme strives to increase employee satisfaction and subsequently, productivity and performance.
Entrants should provide details of the programme, take-up rate, and relevant metrics of the results. Examples of programmes are flexi-work hours, maternity/paternity programmes, recreation facilities and leave benefits.
Excellence in Employee Diversity & Inclusion Strategies
Today’s workplace is a melting pot of different cultures, races and backgrounds. This category is for the organisation which has a well-rounded HR strategy aimed at integrating the individuals into the company, as well as provide a support system which will ultimately achieve business objectives. Examples are gender programmes/networks for minority groups/LGBT/physically disabled/etc.
HR Young Talent of the Year (Individual Award)
Awarded to the individual working in HR for less than 5 years and is able to demonstrate experience in the execution of progressive HR initiatives in rolling out specific plans and strategies towards achieving organisational goals.
This person must have showed dedication to the field, through continuing education and career progression within the HR function.
HR Professional of the Year (Individual Award)
Awarded to the individual who demonstrates the ability to implement change and improve organisational effectiveness. This individual must have also showcased leadership qualities in overseeing effective HR practices. This person must have contributed towards the implementation of specific HR initiatives and have been in the HR field for seven years or more.
HR Grand Winner 2015
This award goes to the organisation that garnered the highest overall points and the most successful across all categories.
