HR practitioner appointments

Telenor welcomes new HR headGenevieve Godwin Cahri took up the role as head of human resources at Telenor Digital Businesses in October. She came over from J. Walter Thompson Worldwide where she was the regional HR director Asia Pacific. Originally from Australia, Cahri is an experienced leader who enjoys mentoring and developing HR talent. She is based in Singapore.

Ansell promotes VP human resourcesRaymond See has moved up to VP human resources for global operations at Ansell in October. See has more than 20 years of experience in HR. He joined the company in 2013 as senior HR director, APAC, and was promoted from his role as senior director HR global operations (APAC, EMEA and Mexico). He is based in Malaysia.

Emma Lang joins Philips LightingShe was appointed APAC recruitment marketing, senior manager at Philips Lighting in October.  She brings with her 10 years of experience, servicing agencies and in-house HR departments across the UK, EMEA and APAC. She came over from Deutsche Bank where she had served as the global professional recruiting & RPO strategy specialist. She is based in Singapore.

Cathay Pacific Airways welcomes new managerGrace Fong joined the airline as assistant manager, strategic planning in October. Her previous job was consultant at Hay Group, where she started her HR career in 2011 as an associate manager with Hay Group. She is based in Hong Kong.

Honeywell hires recruiterSam Chang joined Honeywell in October. He started serving as a recruiter in 2011, working for companies such as HSBC and Manulife. His last appointment was specialist recruiter at HSBC. He is based in Hong Kong.

Daikin Malaysia promotes HR specialistDaisuke Onoda was promoted to the role of HR specialist in October. He has been with Daikin in Japan since 2012, serving as a global human resources, professional. He has relocated from Japan to Malaysia for the new role.

Park Hotel Group welcomes new HR directorAlex Ang was appointed group human resources director at the hotel group in August.  His previous appointment was chief people officer at Chia Tai Commercial Real Estate & Shanghai Kinghill Limited. Ang has been focusing on working HR with the hospitality sector since 2004. He has relocated to Singapore from China for the new role.

HR solutions provider appointments

The Edge in Asia has new MDPriya Bala was appointed managing director at The Edge Partnership - The Edge in Asia in September. After a successful career in media and marketing, she ventured into the recruitment industry in 2007 and has not looked back since. Her last appointment was regional director at Font. She is based in Malaysia.

Prudential promotes director of HR analyticsAndy Lam moved up to the role in October, and was promoted from HR analytics manager.  In 2015, Lam moved from Singapore to Hong Kong to join Prudential Corporation Asia as a HR analytics manager. Prior to Prudential, Lam was an analyst, GPS operations APAC with Google in Singapore. He will continue to be based in Hong Kong.

Bhavya Sehgal joins Rutgers Business School Asia Pacific as advisory board memberSehgal who is also the senior vice-president, strategy and innovation - Asia Pacific at ORC International has accepted the role in October. He will help the school's management keep up to date with the key themes which are evolving in Asia through massive disruptions, innovations, and digitisation that are impacting the workforce and environment at large. In the role, he is also looking to support Rutgers in building content which is going to be of immense value to invaluable employees, innovative entrepreneurs, and citizens in the community. He is based in Singapore.

Morgan Philips welcomes new associate directorAnant Chaturvedi joined Morgan Philips Executive Search as associate director - healthcare & life sciences in October.  He is  a seasoned executive search professional with over 12 years of experience. Chaturvedi  has supported his clients on various critical, technical and niche roles for middle to senior level positions in sourcing quality candidates across APAC, Middle East, Africa and Turkey. He is based in Singapore.

Ann Nor joins Empower Talent ConsultingAfter spending time at Randstad Malaysia as a consultant in the banking & financial services, Nor joined Empower Talent Consulting as a senior consultant in October. She is based in Malaysia.

PwC strengthens HR teamMichelle Wang joined PwC Hong Kong and Mainland China as human capital, senior officer in October. Her previous job was talent acquisition, strategic sourcing and talent pipelines - Greater China at AECOM. Wang has been in the recruiting business for around 5 years with experience in Hong Kong and Mainland China. She will continue to be based in Hong Kong.

GE Healthcare Japan welcomes new HR partnerRina Sakuraba has joined GE Healthcare Japan in October as their APAC HR business partner for life sciences, ultrasound and life care solutions. She came over from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) where she had served since 2012. Sakuraba started her career in Allianz as head of human resources, AGCS Japan, Allianz fire & marine insurance in 2012; then relocated in 2014 to Singapore as regional learning & development and talent management Asia, business partner of AGCS. She returned to Japan for her new role.

Shweta Konher joins Development Dimensions InternationalIn October, Shweta Konher was appointed assessor at Development Dimensions International. She brings with her more than 10 years of  experience in leading corporate HR for organisations across various geographies in India & Singapore. Her previous appointment was senior consultant at People Matrix. She is based in India.
