HR Practitioner Appointments

Bono Lee accepts new role as director of HR, region APACHaving been part of the industry since 1997, Bono Lee has been recruited by Elekta, to the role of director of human resources, region Asia Pacific. He remains based in Hong Kong, moving up from his previous role in the company, where he was HR business partner, for the APAC region. Previously, he has worked with CTBAT (a joint venture between China Tobacco and British American Tobacco), Lloyd's Register Rail (Asia), TNT Express, and more over a long HR career.

Shu Tze Yuh takes up new role at Mah Sing Group in MalaysiaTenured with the leading property developer, Mah Sing Group, since 2017, Shu Tze Yuh has taken up a new role as head of people strategy and engagement effective January 2018. He continues to be based in Kuala Lumpur, where he is tasked with managing internal communication channels to drive higher people engagement through various initiatives, and optimise people strategy to propel business outcomes.

Speaking to Human Resources on his new role's priorities, Shu shared: "We are currently ramping up the HR functions in Mah Sing, led by the chief people officers. Priorities in the next 11 months would include institutionalising multiple internal communication platforms, developing people engagement strategy to drive higher engagement, and establishing the internal employer brand to resonate the external expression of our employer brand through our new EVP."

Engineering and construction firm McConnell Dowell fills HR roleBased in Kuala Lumpur, Jack Hew is HR associate manager at McConnell Dowell, moving from his past role as HR business partner at Warisan TC Holdings, where he was credited with managing the full spectrum of HR services, covering recruitment, compensation, training, employee relations, and more. He also also previously undertaken HR roles at Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care, British American Tobacco, and more.

Akmal Mohd Nasir welcomes a new role with Panasonic Industrial Device MalaysiaEffective January 2018, industrial marketing and services provider Panasonic Industrial Device Malaysia has recruited Akmal Mohd Nasir as specialist - human capital. He continues to be based in Selangor, and has previously held assignments at Cadbury Confectionary, BASF PETRONAS Chemicals, and more.


HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Willis Towers Watson announces new talent and rewards leader for MalaysiaDr. Tan Juan Jim is the new talent and rewards business leader for Willis Towers Watson's Malaysian offices. In this role, he leads the talent and rewards consulting business in Malaysia which consists of executive rewards, employee insights, rewards data services, and more. He brings with him 17 years of experience across Malaysia, Singapore, and the wider ASEAN, and was previously group head of human capital management for IHH Healthcare and Parkway Pantai.

Deloitte appoints Pushp Deep Gupta as the global leader of leadership practiceWith the leadership practice focused on helping organisations to develop digital leaders, promote young leaders, and build new leadership models, Deloitte has appointed Singapore-based Pushp Deep Gupta as the global leader of the practice. He commented: "It is an honour to take on the global lead responsibility for Deloitte leadership and I am very excited to work with the global team and our clients to rewrite the rules of leadership and leadership development."

Gupta joined Deloitte in 2016 and is an executive director for Deloitte’s human capital consulting practice in Southeast Asia based in Singapore. He has over 17 years’ experience in talent and leadership consulting.

Dahlia Sutrisno appointed as APAC senior workplace specialist at EngageRocketHR analytics startup EngageRocket has appointed Dahlia Sutrisno to help companies use employee feedback and lead with analytics in driving cultural change, organisational transformation, mergers & acquisitions, and others. She has a proven track record running such programmes as a consultant for Fortune-500 companies at Gallup across APAC, and driving sales of LinkedIn Talent Solutions in Indonesia.

She is also the CEO of Euphoric Coaching, and is Gallup trained, certified Clifton StrengthsFinder coach and trainer. She coaches managers, leaders and teams of startups and MNCs across Asia Pacific.

Ascendant Consultants brings Joyce Tam on board as directorJoyce Tam has been secured as director of Ascendant Consultants, which is a newly established executive search firm with a specialisation in middle to senior corporate function appointments across industries in Hong Kong and Mainland PRC. Tam specialises in searching for corporate function candidates, with a focus on HR management, accounting and finance, and general management areas, covering the Greater China region.

SIRVA Worldwide Relocation & Moving relocates Jody Lenderman to ConnecticutPreviously based in Hong Kong as director for relocation services Asia and Middle East, Jody Lenderman has moved to Connecticut as project manager for SIRVA Worldwide Relocation & Moving. He has over 7 years of experience in the employee mobility space, and was previously with OKAY.com as director of the residential division.
