Recruitment Asia, the region’s most comprehensive and insightful event in recruitment and talent acquisition, has lined up leading HR leaders and senior talent acquisition professionals to examine hiring trends, workforce challenges and the hottest talent platforms in the digital age.

Organised by Human ResourcesRecruitment Asia 2016 is a two-day conference happening in Singapore on 1-2 November and on 15-16 November in Kuala Lumpur.

“Jumping into a sea of hiring tools and systems without a clear-cut agenda may lead to wasted recruitment efforts,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine.

“Through its highly experienced speakers, Recruitment Asia 2016 will narrow down and specify ways to determine which technology can address staffing needs and boost talent retention.”

Recruitment Asia 2016 will discuss the latest sourcing strategies, retention programmes, impact of technological integration, and employer branding essentials. Here is how one of the topics, hiring in the digital age, will be presented at the event.

Suzie Custerson, head of talent acquisition, Asia at Manulife, will explore different ways to leverage the best social media and online tools for recruitment in her presentation “Redefining recruitment strategy using technology.”

Custerson will emphasise how the returns on the use of digital tools in recruiting can be measured. She has over 13 years of experience in the financial services industry, performing various HR and talent acquisition functions largely at ANZ Banking Group and Credit Suisse.

A rapid-fire session entitled “The future of talent acquisition in the digital age” will spearheaded by Jo-Ann Low, head of recruitment for people and organisation at Maxis Communications.

Low and her fellow panellists will disclose their most pressing concerns and challenges brought up in their talent acquisition processes and the novel ideas and solutions they came up with. They will explain how technology affected their organisational needs, hiring initiatives and candidate standards.

In a case study presentation entitled “Designing a proactive candidate sourcing strategy to attract the right talent”, Rachel Fitton, APAC head of talent acquisition at HP, will demonstrate how she uses technology for more effective talent identification and assessment. Fitton has over 15 years of experience in recruitment with exposure to various industries in different continents.

Past Recruitment Asia participants are senior HR leaders from major employers in the region, such as Petronas, Maybank, L’Oréal, Shell, Unilever, and Weir Group. All presenters and panellists, such as Anuradha Katyal, HR Director, SEA at Scania South East Asia, are director or vice president level HR professionals with regional responsibility.
